He knows her eyes completely,
Her piercing stare,
Her arms fair skin- when lit,
Faintly covered in light brown hair,
And her perfume that distracts.
Does he not despair?
Dare the yellow fog profess to one so gentle and so fair?

Fair and Sweet Hummingbird
Fair and sweet Hummingbird,
with withered branches I yearn,
I sit restless, breathless, for your return.
I retrace your dart,
fluttering from flower to flower,
I remember your exit,
left with a bitter taste when the nectar went sour.
Alas, I can only bend and creak,
If only Boreas and Zephyr could bless me to speak,
and fly through my leaves,
then I would whisper a plea,
"Bird of Paradise, please forgive me".

My Hope
A Hades dew upon my brow,
shallow graves beneath my view,
to a shadowed horseman do I bow,
by his orders I am subdued,
the dagger in the back is black with rot,
Hope fights back 'til one day removed,
by serpent snares we are caught,
gnawing- helpless to be free,
remove the flesh that we are not,
Savior Hope- my remedy.
