A Convenient Shade

A convenient shade,
E'en a shell could do,
A companion made,
While fair eyes pursue.

Sip the sweet,
Heart of honey and manna dew,
A soul deplete,
But the fair made anew.

Baiting, baiting,
Abruptly ends,
A broken heart,
Left to mend.

Left alone,
While fair hand-in-hand,
Comfort companion,
Nothing more than a broken man.

The Despair of a Love Song

He knows her eyes completely,
Her piercing stare,
Her arms fair skin- when lit,
Faintly covered in light brown hair,
And her perfume that distracts.
Does he not despair?
Dare the yellow fog profess to one so gentle and so fair?

Cupid an Psyche

Curse my eyes,
lest I fall in love again,
one mind with Venus,
punishment is due to this unlawful sin,
beauty and poise averted eyes from a goddess,
winged judgment to give your bittersweet lips a kiss,
a task for this messenger unseen,
heaven hear my orison that it will end with me invisible Cupid,
and you Psyche my queen.
