A Convenient Shade
A convenient shade,
E'en a shell could do,
A companion made,
While fair eyes pursue.
Sip the sweet,
Heart of honey and manna dew,
A soul deplete,
But the fair made anew.
Baiting, baiting,
Abruptly ends,
A broken heart,
Left to mend.
Left alone,
While fair hand-in-hand,
Comfort companion,
Nothing more than a broken man.

Poem In Progress
Timeless beauty that never wanes,
the bod may sleep,
but spirit remains,
be still my heart,
be quick my brain,
for the lady walks in truth,
and bears His name.
Prized over gold and Midus' touch-
jewels, gemstones, and the such,
are light as air to virtuous,
and as dull and dark as Erebus.

2nd Letter to Layla Khepri
You have a flow,
but you spit the same thing.
Life isn't about paper stacks,
your gold leaves a green ring.
You've got the game confused...
You don't know what you rep.
You're growing backwards.
This isn't an evolutionary step,
it's a mutation that is killing the scene.
I'm not trying to be mean,
this is more of a lament.
You're throwing a precious gift away,
misusing your talent.
but you spit the same thing.
Life isn't about paper stacks,
your gold leaves a green ring.
You've got the game confused...
You don't know what you rep.
You're growing backwards.
This isn't an evolutionary step,

You're throwing a precious gift away,

Jewels in the Rough
These girls are daughters of the King,
so treat 'em like nothing less,
but ladies you need to show less skin,
and show more self-respect.
Dress more modestly,
girl cover up that chest.
Besides,
Christian men should be more interested in what's above the neck.
Heck,
if you can keep your lusts in check,
like Paul said-
it's better to be celibate.
But some of you are slaves to your sin,
lookin' in a mirror that's tellin' you you're gay.
You may have been left to your perversions,
but you don't have to choose to live that way.
Sophisticated sophists-
how can you carry His name in vain,
and make claims on His behalf.
He made it plain,
Old and New Testaments say the same.
You can't manipulate the Word that came in flesh,
that always was and always will be.
Can't you see,
it's an excuse you give me.
You know what you should do and should be,
but you're afraid of what you'll have to give up,
but I won't give up.
I'm praying that you'll come back home,
it's never too late,
and remember-
you're not alone.

My Transformation
LORD thank You for coming into my life,
even though times get tough,
I look up and I'm basking in Your light,
even in my weakness you carried me through the strife,
and that's why I strive to live my life-
to glorify you in everything I do.
Even when I didn't follow after You,
You kept knocking,
convicting,
You still pursued,
You stuck to me like glue,
and I knew-
there was nothing that I could do-
to save myself, in the end it's You-
that will make all things new,
Father make me new.
And these folks see me different,
my compassion seems odd,
but I think it's because they're not seeing me,
but seeing reflections of my God,
honestly,
it makes me want to sob-
that cruelty is expected,
still an invaluable life,
but low-income,
disrespected,
they're hopeless in this world,
Spirit disconnected,
but I feel elected-
to tell 'em that they've been selected,
by a beautiful Sacrifice that was equally rejected.
Selah!

Sleep
Thick, and without form- darkness,
pierced by opaque light,
gradually diffusing starkness,
muffles the one with sight.
Receiver of white noise,
shivers the chill's bite.
Band of fleeting decoys,
startled by a striking clock,
reminds the dream "deploy",
and retreat with the morning cock.

Letter to Layla Khepri
Still a rookie, no elite.
You got talent,
but need to focus those laser beams into a steady stream.
Set yourself apart from the scene.
Do your lyrics have to be obscene?
Cut the silly stuff and come clean.
No beef- just a critique from someone that reps the power of the Nazarene.
DJ PK Peace.
